Our main news this week is that John Ashworth has paid in most of the money raised from the 2 Yorkshire Peaks Walk that he and some friends did for us and I am very pleased to report that we have around £1,500 from this event!

 

This is a fantastic achievement and will help the band enormously. We are extremely grateful to John, all his friends who did the walk with him, everyone who sponsored them and also to United Utilities who "matched-funded" some of the money raised to the tune of nearly £450!!

 

Watch this space for details of what we will be spending this money on.

 

 

Congratulations to Laura Quigley, our flugel player, who celebrated her 18th birthday last weekend. Most of the band attended her party at Wardle Conservative Club and a very good night was had by all, even if some can't remember it!! I believe there are some photos knocking about but they are very difficult for me to download from where they are and upload them onto our photo site because they are all individuals. It has nothing to do with the fact that there is one of me that could get me a bad reputation!

Our Patrons Scheme is coming along very nicely. We now have 25 people signed up and still many more who have promised to do so.
