Firstly Happy Birthday to our Principal Cornet, Sue Butterworth for last Sunday.

 

We are practising for the Tameside Open Competition this Sunday (which incidentally is MY birthday) where we will be playing Three Part Invention - the piece that we won at Blackpool with. Hopefully at some point on Sunday (even though it is my birthday) I will be able to put the result on this site but if I can't manage to do it (because I may be busy celebrating my birthday) then 4 Bars Rest may well have the results on their site. Did I mention it is my birthday this Sunday too?

 

 

 

 

There may be some news soon (in a couple of weeks or so) on some of the fundraising ideas we have for the coming year and we still have to decide on whether to go ahead with our trip to Spain.

 

Meanwhile, our next concert for the public is the the Mayor's Charity Concert at Holy Trinity Church on 18th April - tickets are £5 so please spread the word and contact any member of the band to buy yours.

At Tuesday's rehearsal this week we had almost a full band - there was just one person missing who apparently couldn't handle his beer over the Easter weekend! To still be rough on Tuesday night means he must have been either drinking meths or maybe it was just the sight of his old photo that made him go back to drinking like an 11 year old!
