Other info: Nige re joined the band in 2004 to help out at one job and has not been allowed to leave. (Sean won't let him!) He hadn't played for about 5 years but it seems like he has never been away. He married Kirsty (our 1st Horn player) in June 2006.

Stephen Ward - Bb

Stephen started playing when he was 11. He played Bb Bass and Bassoon at Wardle High School. The Bassoon only lasted a couple of years, during which time he played in both the school orchestra and wind band. He joined British Aerospace Band a few years later and after leaving school he moved on to Wardle High Youth and Rochdale Youth Band. This lead to Stephen playing with the Young Ambassadors and then joining Todmorden Old Brass Band, where he played for 5 years and was privileged to be involved in the band's rapid rise from 4th Section to Championship Section in 4 years. It was while playing at Todmorden that Stephen met his wife Joanne (our ex-repiano player).

Stephen then moved on from Todmorden to Oldham Brass 97 where he played for 2 years, but then due to heavy work commitments, had to have some time off playing. After 5 years, he returned to Oldham Band (Lees) for the NW areas, and then decided to move on to Anderson Brass in 2006, where he now plays when not working away!
